Falatados
Falatados
is 10km. north of Tinos Town and is one of the most
beautiful major villages in the island's interior. It
combines verdant environs nd the openness of the plateau
facing the outcrop of the ruined Venetian fortress of
Exombourgo, with the fascination and appeal of a traditional
village that is full of life in both winter and summer.
Falatados has around 200 permanent inhabitants; it produces
the best raki on the island and the surrounding areas
feature large expanses of vineyards planted essentially with
ancient Tinos grape types, such as «potamissia», «gdoures»
and «koumariana». The region also has extensive cultivations
and livestock farming.
