Triantaros
Triantaros, which has existed since the 11th
century, is located at a distance of 7km from the Chora of
Tinos. This is a wonderfully lively village that has kept
well preserved its traditional elements and local
architecture, with its narrow alleyways, step-streets and
archways. In the surrounding areas, wind- and watermills
used to function, which gradually were either abandoned or
were converted into homes. On the lower square of the
village, part of an old oil-mill is preserved. An
outstanding feature of the village is the breathtaking view
over the Aegean and the Cyclades islands. Triantaros is
renowned for its highly skilled builders and is today
regarded as one of the cosmopolitan villages of Tinos and of
the Cyclades, since a large number of its houses have been
purchased and renovated by high-profile Athenian and foreign
buyers.
